Description of the Workshop
Massive technology and time led changes are bringing a paradigm shift in academia at higher educational institutions and at secondary and senior secondary levels in schools. Conventional teaching and learning approaches are now incomplete in preparing students for the complexities of the modern world. Today, students are required to bear diverse skill sets along with the knowledge and right attitude. Critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication along with agile mindset prepare students to solve real-world problems, think innovatively, work in teams, and communicate with ease and confidence.
Educational leaders and teachers must build capacities in themselves to develop the agile mindset and skill sets in their students. Student-centred teaching, assessment and evaluation strategies are the best means to deploy. Empowered pedagogical approaches are needed along with developing emotional intelligence to adapt to changing learning landscapes. This training will upskill the participating teachers and teacher-students to hone such skills and be more prepared for the classrooms of today and tomorrow in accordance with outcome-based education (OBE). The training shall rest on these topics:
1. Need and importance of student-centric teaching
2. Creative teaching strategies
3. Assessment and evaluation techniques
4. Need of emotional resilience for mental wellbeing at academia
