Description of the Workshop

This series of workshops focuses on the various aspects of product/service
innovation using Karmic Design Thinking. Participants will learn a structured,
hands-on approach to creating meaningful products and services.

 

The workshop is divided into four modules, which can be taken individually or as a complete bundle:
· Module 1: Empathize with customers (3 hours): Learn powerful techniques to understand your customers needs, desires, and pain points.
· Module 2: Analyze (3 hours): Synthesize your observations to define the core problems and identify key opportunities for innovation.
· Module 3: Solutions (3 hours): Brainstorm and develop creative and effective solutions to address the problems you've identified.
· Module 4: Testing (Prototyping and Validation) (3 hours): Learn how to build low-fidelity prototypes to test your ideas and validate your solutions with real users.

Profile of the Instructor

Dr. Bala Ramadurai is a multi-faceted professional—entrepreneur, professor, author, innovation coach, and podcaster—who blends academic depth with hands-on industry experience. As the CEO and Co-founder of Spirelia, he leads the development of AI-powered tools that simplify and accelerate innovation, helping companies bridge the gap between ideas, IP, and implementation.

With over 15 years of global experience, Dr. Ramadurai has worked with top-tier organizations such as GE, Mercedes-Benz, Samsung, and Mindtree, bringing transformative approaches to innovation and intrapreneurship. He holds a PhD from Arizona State University and a B.Tech from IIT Madras, and has taught over 100,000 students through institutions like IIT Madras,
NPTEL, Universidad Panamericana (Mexico), and SIBM Pune.

Dr. Ramadurai is the author of Karmic Design Thinking, co-author of a handbook on technology forecasting, and holds multiple patents from his time at GE. He’s also a co-host of four podcasts. Outside work, he is a birder, traveler, and amateur astronomer.

Thinking a Primer completion certificate.

Eligibility:

Participants must currently be enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in any discipline.
