Description of the workshop
A course on “Ethics in Academic Communication in the Age of AI” is increasingly important because the way knowledge is created, shared, and evaluated is rapidly changing. Why it matters: Preserving Academic Integrity; Responsible Use of AI Tools (AI can be powerful, but misuse can lead to misinformation or unethical shortcuts); Addressing Bias and Fairness; Protecting Intellectual Property; Enhancing Critical Thinking Skills (rather than relying blindly on AI); Evaluate the credibility of information; Cross-check sources; Distinguish between human insight and machine-generated text; Preparing for Future Academic and Professional Standards; Universities, journals, and workplaces are developing policies around AI use. This course prepares individuals to: Follow evolving ethical guidelines; Communicate transparently in academic and professional settings; Building Trust in Academic Communication. Without understanding such issues, the value of academic qualifications and publications could decline.
