Description of the Workshop

Designed for aspiring filmmakers, content creators, and tech-curious students, this journey takes you from basic idea generation to executing your own AI-powered short. You'll explore tools like ChatGPT, Midjourney, Runway ML, and IndieShots — learning how to break down scripts, visualize scenes, and produce content faster and smarter. By the end, you will build your own AI-assisted short project while mastering the core skills that define next-gen creators.  
 

Profile of the Instructor

Mr. Shashwat Mookherjee is the Co-founder and CEO of IndieRise Research Labs Pvt. Ltd., a deep-tech content studio incubated at IIT Madras Research Park, aimed at revolutionizing filmmaking through AI-driven tools. A filmmaker, technologist, and creative producer, he directed the Marche Du film Cannes featured independent film Dispersion. He is a graduate of Data Science and Applications from IIT Madras.

  • Demo: Convert a prompt into 3 types of content — poster, script, and voice-over 
  •  Group activity: Pick a random idea and use a tool chain to create a teaser 
  •  Get familiar with the AI stack powering modern creators.

26th July (Saturday) Session 1: 10am - 1pm  The Creative Revolution – What is Content Creation in 2025?  Objectives
  • Understand how content is evolving in the digital age 
  • Introduction to short-form, long-form, branded, and narrative content
  • Learn the impact of AI on media, creators, and audiences 
The AI Toolbox – Overview of Tools & What They Do Topics Covered 
  • Text Tools: ChatGPT, Jasper, Notion AI 
  • Image Tools: Midjourney, Leonardo AI, DALL·E 
  • Video Tools: Runway ML, Pika, Kaiber 
  • Audio Tools: ElevenLabs, AIVA, PlayHT 
  • Design Tools: Canva Magic, Adobe Firefly 
Session 2: 3pm - 5pm Hands-On 
  • Live demo: "Script to Poster" using ChatGPT + Midjourney 
  • Small activity: Create a 2-line story and generate an AI poster for it

Certification

Attending the workshop and submission of a mini project is mandatory for certification.
