Description

With significant changes happening in the landscape of education, traditional teaching and learning approaches can’t prepare students for the complexities of the modern world. At its core, 21st Century Teaching and Learning recognises to equip students with diverse skill sets to thrive in times characterised by rapid tech led advancements, globalisation,  and social and environmental structures. Skills namely critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, digital literacy, and agility prepare students for academic successes, and can make them solve real-world problems, think innovatively, work effectively in teams, and communicate ideas with ease and confidence. Thus, today’s teachers must be progressively be ready to churn out the students with such abilities.

This training shall build capacities in the participating teachers and scholars to hone such skills and be more prepared for the classrooms of today and tomorrow. The event shall encompass these themes:

1. Student-centric teaching and learning is the way forward and is about creating an encouraging environment in the (online/offline/hybrid) classrooms that is exploratory, discussion based, experiential and engaging.

2. Empowered teaching via pedagogy and andragogy for enabling directed and self- learning respectively for making classroom more inclusive and address diversity amid learners.

3. Social emotional learning is the key skill needed for both teachers (staff) and learners (students) need to build their emotional intelligence and work towards attaining holistic outcomes. The need is to develop mental wellness through self-awareness, self-motivation and the social-emotional skill- empathy.
