Mode of workshop: Online

The workshop will cover the fundamentals of Java programming. This workshop will be completely hands-on with example codes discussed during the sessions. It will also cover theory and concepts required to understand the examples. The learning outcomes are :

I. Basics of Java
II. OOPS Concepts
III. Data Structures in Java
IV. File and Exception Handling in Java

Day 1 – 6th Dec, 2022:  Basic Coding Structure

• Concepts covered : Code Structure, Data Types, Variables, If-then-Else Statements, Loops, Logical Operators
• Learning Outcomes : How to write Java programs.

Day 2- 7th Dec, 2022: Object Oriented Programming Concepts

• Concepts covered : Defining Classes, Creating Objects, Methods, Abstract Classes
• Learning Outcomes : Object Oriented Programming concepts

Day 3 – 8th Dec, 2022: Arrays and Lists

• Concepts covered : Defining and navigating through arrays, lists
• Learning Outcomes : How to declare and use single and multi-dimensional arrays and lists

Day 4 – 9th Dec, 2022 : Advanced Data Structures in Java

• Concepts covered : Hashmap and HashSets, Linked Lists, Queue
• Learning Outcomes : Declaring and using hashmaps and linked lists

Day 5 – 10th Dec, 2022 : File handling in Java

• Concepts covered : Streams, Exception Handling, Try-Catch Block
• Learning Outcomes : Performing different file operations, exception handling
