Topics Covered:
- Understanding “cinematic” visuals
- Shot types: wide, close-up, top-down, POV
- Lighting language: rim light, bounce, silhouette, fill
- Color grading references: Atlee (orange-teal), Nolan (desaturation), Tarkovsky (warm greens), Wes Anderson (symmetry)
Hands-on:
- Visual grammar moodboard
- Example shot analysis: Jawan, Oppenheimer, Volatile
MODULE 2
MODULE 2 — Prompt Engineering for Cinema (10:45AM– 11:45 AM)
Topics Covered:
- Midjourney syntax: –ar, –style, –v, etc.
- Creating cinematic prompts from shot breakdowns
- Consistency strategies using style, lighting, camera
- 21:9 ultrawide aspect + scene anchoring
Hands-on:
- Each participant generates 3–4 AI frames from written shot descriptions
- Compare outputs, iterate with refinements
MODULE 3
MODULE 3 — Visual Continuity & Character Control (11:45AM – 1:00 PM)
Topics Covered:
- Maintaining character identity across frames
- Use of reference images, ControlNet, Seed locking
- Styling: outfit, hair, props, setting cues
- Midjourney limitations + SDXL/ControlNet pipelines for continuity
Hands-on:
- Consistency workshop: Create 3 shots of same character in different scenarios
- Feedback on coherence, tone, camera language
MODULE 4
MODULE 4 — Production Design with AI (3:00PM – 4:00 PM)
Topics Covered:
- Designing locations, costumes, props
- Creating stylized lookbooks or director’s decks
- Blending AI outputs with real-world constraints (budget, VFX feasibility) ● Using AI visuals in pitch decks and moodboards
Hands-on:
- Participants choose 1 script concept and build:
○ 1 location design
○ 1 costume concept
○ 1 stylized reference frame
- Optional: Photoshop/Canva enhancements
MODULE 5
MODULE 5 — Final Project + Showcase (4:00PM – 5:00 PM)
Assignment:
- Pick a short script idea (provided or original)
- Generate a 3–5 shot storyboard using Midjourney
- Ensure cinematic tone, visual continuity, and compelling shot language
Presentations:
- Each participant (or group) presents their visual breakdown
- Peer + Instructor critique
- Discussion: How these visuals translate to live-action/VFX
