Profile of the instructor(s)

Prof. Somnath Dey is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at IIT Indore. He completed his B.Tech in Information Technology from the University of Kalyani and later earned his MS by Research and PhD from IIT Kharagpur. At IIT Indore, he also serves as the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs (Postgraduate), contributing to curriculum development and academic planning. Previously, he held key roles such as Head of the CSE Department and Associate Dean of Administration, reflecting his leadership and commitment to institutional growth. His research interests include biometric security, image processing, computer vision, and machine learning. He has published over 50 papers in reputed journals and conferences. He also received recognition such as the Young Scientist Award from the Computer Society of India (Eastern Region). With more than 12 years of academic experience, Prof. Dey actively collaborates with industry and government organizations and contributes to various technical and academic committees. He is also one of the Directors of the startup – Automated Patient Screening Services (APSS) Pvt. Ltd.. He is an IEEE Senior Member and ACM Professional Member.   Dr. Bodhisatwa Mazumdar is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, and Professor-in-Charge, Center for Futuristic Defense and Space Technology (CFDST), at IIT Indore. He received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur, Kharagpur, India. He was a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Design for Excellence Laboratory, New York University Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi, UAE. His current research interests include optimized hardware implementations of cryptographic primitives, and side channel attacks and countermeasures. He is presently a voting-cum working group member (WGM) in IEEE Standard 1413.1 on Guide for Selecting and Using Reliability Predictions, and IEEE 1624, which is the IEEE Standard for Organizational and Capability. Dr. Mazumdar has been a Technical Program Committee Member of conferences, such as VLSID, SPACE, and VDAT.   Dr. Ayan Mondal is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore, India. Prior to this, he worked as a Research Engineer at Univ Rennes, INRIA, CNRS, IRISA, France. He was also a Visiting Professor at the Centre for Wireless Communications - Networks and Systems, University of Oulu, Finland, in 2023. He earned his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT Kharagpur, India, in 2020. He was a visiting researcher at Inria, Rennes, France, in 2019. He completed his M.S. (by Research) degree from the IIT Kharagpur, India, in 2015. He is the recipient of several academic awards and fellowships, including the IEI Young Engineers Award 2025-26 (Institution of Engineers, India), the IEEE TCSC Outstanding Ph.D. Dissertation Award 2022, and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Research Fellowship 2016 (India). Previously, Dr. Mondal chaired many workshops at different conferences, including IEEE ICC, IEEE GLOBECOM, IEEE INFOCOM, IEEE HPSR, and ACM/IEEE CCGrid. He is also one of the Directors of the startup – Automated Patient Screening Services (APSS) Pvt. Ltd.. He is an IEEE Senior Member and ACM Professional Member. The current research interests of his group, Next-Generation Networking, Services, and Technologies (NEST) Research Group, include algorithm design for intelligent edge cloud, next-generation networks, and the Internet of Things (IoT).

Cryptographic Fundamentals for CyberSecurity (Part-II) (i) Modules for Authentication: Digital Signatures (ii) Constructions of AI-Driven Encryption Algorithms 1.5+1 hours
Fundamentals of IoT Systems and System Security (i) Modules for IoT Layers (ii) Modules for IoT Protocols (iii) Implementing IoT Protocols 1.5+1 hours The participants will learn the fundamentals of IoT architecture and protocols. And its limitations
