Profile of the Instructors

Dr. Anik Mukherjee is currently an assistant professor of Information Systems at the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, India. Dr. Mukherjee is also the program directors of Executive Program of Business Analytics (EPBA) and Chief Revenue Officer program for the executives at IIM Calcutta. Prior to joining IIM Calcutta, Dr. Anik was an assistant professor at IIT Roorkee, India. Dr. Anik graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, with an MS and Ph.D. degree in the Information Systems area. Dr. Anik has more than ten years of research and teaching experience in analytics, digital platforms, data science, blockchain, cyber security and other related areas of technologies. He was awarded the Fulbright Nehru Doctoral Research Fellowship to the Muma College of Business, University of South Florida, USA. In addition to the Fulbright fellowship, he was a visiting research scholar at the Mercator School of Management, University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany, as a DAAD Master's Research Fellow. Dr. Mukherjee has published his research in various peer-reviewed international journals such as Decision Support Systems, Information Systems Frontiers, ACM Transactions on Management Information Systems and in premier conferences such as AMCIS, PACIS, WITS, DESRIST and others. Dr. Mukherjee has beend invited to serve in the editorial review board of Journal of Organizational Computing and Electronic Commnerce.

Dr. Mahesh Balan Umaithanu is a Principal Data Scientist at Walmart, engineering GenAI-powered multi-agent systems for real-time financial intelligence for the CFO office. He holds a Ph.D. from IIT Madras, with research in AI-driven web personalization. He is a holder of multiple patents and an award-winning researcher recognized by ACM, IEEE, AIS and Springer. Previously at PayPal, he built large-scale fraud and credit risk systems delivering over $70M in annual impact. His experience includes Amazon’s India Machine Learning team, ZS’s Advanced Data Science unit, and TCS. He also contributes to academia as Visiting Faculty at leading institutions including IIT Madras, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, and IIM Amritsar.
