Description of the Workshop
This workshop offers an academically rigorous and professionally enriching exploration into the design and analysis of high-rise structures. Spanning four meticulously structured sessions, it introduces participants to the core principles of structural modeling and analysis, providing a solid foundation for understanding the behavior of tall buildings under complex loading conditions.
Participants will engage with a diverse array of structural systems—including frame, shear wall, core-outrigger, and tubular systems—and assess their performance through real-world case studies. A significant emphasis is placed on lateral load-resisting mechanisms essential for ensuring stability against wind and seismic forces, alongside an in-depth exploration of modern vibration control systems, such as passive, active, and hybrid devices.
Blending theoretical knowledge with practical insights, the workshop aims to equip engineers, researchers, and advanced students with the analytical tools and design strategies required for creating safe, resilient, and efficient high-rise buildings. The program culminates in an online assessment to evaluate comprehension and reinforce key learning outcomes.
