  • Important preprocessing techniques – Case folding, removal of stop words
  • Understanding the meaning of the word One-Hot vector representation
  • Word vectors
  • Probabilistic and Neural Language
  • Computing dense live word vectors using SVD, Glove and Word2Vec models

Day 1: Wednesday – August 24th, 2022

TOPIC :Basic counting and preprocessing
Learning outcome:

Participants will be able to understand the different methods to read a corpus and process the contents

Live session:  2 hrs lecture

Day 2: Thursday – August 25th, 2022

TOPIC: Vector space representation of words
Learning outcome:

Participants will be able to understand the scaler and vector representation of words, word meaning, similarity measures

Live session: 2hrs lecture

Day 3: Friday – August 26th, 2022

TOPIC: Sparse representation of words
Learning outcome:

Learn algorithms to compute word vectors using two models

Day 4: Saturday – August 27th, 2022

TOPIC :Dense representation of word vectors
Learning outcome:

Participants will be able to learn algorithms to compute dense vectors

Day 5:  Sunday – August 28th, 2022

TOPIC : Language Models
Learning outcome:

Learn the fundamentals of language models and  generative language models

Profile of the Instructor(s)

Prof Ramaseshan Ramachandran is currently a visiting professor at Chennai Mathematical Institute taking two courses- Text Analytics and Natural Language Processing. Prior to this, spent close to 30+ years in the technology industry donning several leadership roles that included Venture Leader, Innovation leader, R&D head, Product manager, etc.

Basic qualification of participants:

Those who have finished MLF, MLT and MLP.
