Mode of workshop: Online

Design thinking is a systematic method of solving problems. This method is unique in that it starts and ends with humans. The design thinkers start by observing, interviewing or just plain experiencing a situation. Then, they proceed to improve the situation of the humans by solving problems for them.

Day 1: Introduction & Empathize

Concepts Covered: 

Introduction to Design Thinking,

Empathize Phase: Customer Journey Mapping

Learning outcome:

Understanding human-centered design & Empathizing with users or customers

Live session: 5 hrs lecture

Day 2: Analyze

Concepts Covered: 

Analyze Phase: 5-Whys and How might we.

Learning outcome:

Analysing insights to unearth latent or unsaid needs

Live session: 5 hrs lecture.

Day 3: Solve 

Concepts Covered: 

Solve Phase: Ideation: Free Brainstorming & Make/Test Phase: Prototype

Learning outcome:

Solving problems using thinking patterns of renowned inventors

Live session: 5 hrs lecture.

Day 4: Test 

Concepts Covered: 

Test Phase: Prototyping of the ideas and refinement

Learning outcome:

Testing to validate your ideas by using real prototypes

Live session: 5 hrs lecture.

Profile of the Instructor(s)

Dr. Bala Ramadurai is an author, coach, consultant and professor. He has authored a book on Design Thinking called Karmic Design Thinking (https://dt.balaramadurai.net). He has 3 patents to his credit and 10+ publications in international research journals. He co-founded TRIZ Innovation India (https://trizindia.org) and is an Adjunct Professor at Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (India) (https://www.sibmpune.edu.in), Universidad Panamericana (Mexico), Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies and National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (https://nptel.ac.in). He is also a board member of the Board of Studies for Symbiosis International University.

Certification

After attending all the sessions and submitting daily assessments, we will provide you with a workshop completion certificate from NPTEL.
