Profile of the instructor
Dr. S. Viswanath currently serves as an Assistant Professor at Visva-Bharati
Central University in West Bengal. His rich background includes experience as a High- Performance Manager at the Sports Authority of India, Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports, Patiala. Prior to that, he worked as a Senior Sports Biomechanist at the National Sports Institute of Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur for six years. Dr. Viswanath is a certified biomechanist and performance analyst with a proven track record of working closely with national athletes and supporting their performances in prestigious events such as the Olympics, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, and World Championships. His valuable contributions were instrumental in Malaysia's success, leading to six gold, one silver, and one bronze medal in the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Before his current role, he held positions as an Assistant Professor at YMCA College of Physical Education in Chennai and as a fitness trainer at Dhanaraj Pillai Hockey Academy in Mumbai. Dr. Viswanath is also a qualified hockey coach and has participated in the Inter-University Hockey tournament for three seasons. During his full-
time Ph.D. program, he was awarded an ICSSR fellowship and has received over six awards from various organizations. Dr. Viswanath has authored numerous papers published in Scopus and Web of Science journals. He has also presented his research at both national and international conferences, seminars, and workshops. As a contribution to the physical education and sports science fraternity, he introduced a Sports Science Virtual Lab devoted to offering rich learning resources in sports science, physical education, and sports.
