Workshop - 2 : Transforming Assessment & Learning: A Practitioner's Journey

Description of the workshop

Revolutionizing Assessment Culture Mr. Ramprakash's flagship innovation, QCards, currently empowers 6,000+ schools across India with a simple yet transformative assessment platform. This directly addresses NEP 2020's call for competency-based evaluation and moving away from rote learning. His work demonstrates how technology can make formative assessment accessible, continuous, and meaningful—exactly what the policy envisions.NEP 2020 Connection: "Assessment reforms with a shift from summative to regular and formative assessment" Championing Holistic & Experiential Education Qatapultt's activity-based learning programs embody NEP 2020's emphasis on experiential learning and holistic development. Rather than theoretical knowledge transfer, Mr. Ramprakash's approach focuses on developing students for success in both personal and professional lives—mirroring the policy's vision of education for life, not just employment. NEP 2020 Connection: "Experiential learning with the integration of vocational education" and "Education for holistic development" EdTech as an Enabler, Not a Replacement With extensive global exposure and leadership experience at organizations like IBM, MphasiS, and startups, Mr. Ramprakash understands how technology can democratize quality education. His practical EdTech solutions showcase how digital tools can support teachers and enhance learning outcomes—a cornerstone of NEP 2020's implementation strategy. NEP 2020 Connection: "Extensive use of technology in teaching and learning" and "Teacher empowerment" Nurturing Innovation & Entrepreneurship As a Lead Mentor at GINSERV (JSS Group), Mentor at GRG Gen Next Incubator, and AIM Mentor of Change (NITI Aayog), Mr. Ramprakash has spent 7 years guiding startups and young entrepreneurs. This aligns perfectly with NEP 2020's emphasis on fostering creativity, critical thinking, and entrepreneurial mindsets in students. NEP 2020 Connection: "Development of creative potential, critical thinking, and innovation" Student-Centric & Accessible Learning As a Certified Student Counselor, Mr. Ramprakash brings deep understanding of student psychology and needs. His simple, effective assessment platform demonstrates that powerful educational tools need not be complex—they must be accessible to all educators, regardless of their technological proficiency. NEP 2020 Connection: "Equity and inclusion" and "Learning at appropriate levels and pace"

Integration of lifeskills, P.E sports and academic subjects

Holistic development of the child involves learning in various environments, situations both inside and outside the classroom. Qatapult developed with the help of certified P.E. experts and Psychologists an integrated “practical” curriculum and implemented the Champ360 program in schools. While the usual practise is to have separate instruction and periods for Life skills, P.E/Sports the program created projects where children can learn and demonstrate their skills.

NEP 2020 Connection: The policy mandates Mental, Physical health and well-being, it is essential that Life skills, Sports, etc are integrated as part of school’s calendar with emphasis on providing children different learning environment that will help them in their career and life.

This is not theoretical policy discussion—this is NEP 2020 in action.
