Description about the workshop:
In this workshop, we are going to review the common representations of rigid body attitude and its dynamics, and then look at methods for its estimation and control. The subject is very important for aeronautical, space, and marine applications, where vehicles move and rotate in 3 dimensional Euclidean space. The concepts are also useful in robotic applications with articulated joints that rotate about multiple axes.
Profile of the Instructor

Dr. Yujendra Mitikiri received his B.Tech. in Computer science and engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, in 2001, and subsequently worked on designing analog and mixed-signal circuits at Texas Instruments India, Bangalore, from 2001 to 2015, where he was appointed Senior
Member Technical Staff in the High Performance Analog business group. He received his M.S. in Aerospace engineering and Ph.D. in Mechanical engineering from the University of Florida, Gainesville, in 2017, and 2020 respectively. He joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Tirupati, as an Assistant Professor in 2021. His current teaching and research interests include robotics, controls, and analog circuits.
