Description of the Course

While building a venture, young and aspiring entrepreneurs, who do not have  experience in starting up, often build a startup in search of a problem i.e. they are focused more on the solution rather than the problem. As a result, the solution does not fit the needs of the customer and the startup fails to take off. Research clearly shows that the top reason for startups failing is ‘No Market Need” (CB Insights survey, 2018). This leaves entrepreneurs disheartened as they lose out on significant business opportunities.

This workshop will introduce the participants to the Problem Statement Canvas – a tool to devise a clear and concise problem statement for the customer segment that the entrepreneurship intends to serve. The learnings from the workshop will alter the participants’ approach to new venture creation for the better.

Further, the problem statement canvas tool is also useful for freelancers, professionals and researchers to identify the target customer/user and defining the problem, before proposing a solution. Therefore, the workshop will be helpful for those willing to learn an approach to problem solving in general.
