Profile of the Instructor

Dr. Sharmistha Banerjee is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Design and Associate Professor at the Center for Disaster Management and Research, IIT Guwahati, specializing in sustainable product design and collaborative innovation. With a Ph.D. in Sustainability-Orienting Design Framework for Farm Machinery Design, she co-founded the Sustainability and Social Innovation Lab at IIT Guwahati. Her expertise spans product design, design for sustainability, and design thinking. She teaches courses on materials and processes, user research methods, semiotics, system design for sustainability, usability engineering, and interaction design. Her research focuses on creating systems for sustainable human consumption and production. She has extensive international experience with companies like ABB, Philips, and Infosys.

Assessment Details

  • Participants will work in groups of 10 to develop and pitch a serious game concept
  • Each group will present their game idea, including objectives, core mechanics and potential impact
  • Peer and instructor feedback will be provided
