Profile of the Instructor

Prof. P. Gopinath is a Professor in the Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, India. He received his B.Sc. degree in Microbiology and M.Sc. degree in Biotechnology from Bharathidasan University, India. He earned his Ph.D. in Biotechnology from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, India. He did his postdoctoral research at the University of Rochester Medical Center, New York, USA. His research group in the nanobiotechnology laboratory at IIT Roorkee is working on developing various nanomaterials for Biomedical applications. At present, he has more than 175 research publications in the area of nanobiotechnology in high-impact factor journals. He has filed 25 patents (17 granted) and done one technology transfer. He has also published eight books and 15 book chapters. Further, he has received several prestigious awards including TATA Innovation Fellowship, by Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India. He is a Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), United Kingdom, Fellow of Royal Society of Biology (FRSB), United Kingdom and Fellow of the Academy of Sciences, Chennai.

Registration fee : Rs. 1000
A refund of Rs. 800 will be provided to eligible candidates upon completion of the LAB Workshop.
