Profile of the Instructor

Prof. Avishek Chatterjee is an Assistant Professor (Grade I) in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. He earned his B.E. in Electrical Engineering from Jadavpur University in 2009. He then completed his M.E. in 2011 and later obtained his Ph.D. in 2016 from the Indian Institute of Science.

List of Experiments conducted in the LAB Workshop

  • Blinking an LED.
  • Reading Inputs through push buttons/switches.
  • Input through a matrix keypad.
  • Display on 7-Segment LEDs.
  • Interrupt handling.
  • Waveform generation through external DAC.
  • Reading analog voltages through internal ADCs.
  • Digital FIR Filter.
  • Display on a 16 x 2 LCD.
  • Timer and PWM.
  • Stepper motor control.
  • Reading a rotary encoder.
  • UART communication.
  • SPI communication.
  • I2C communication.

Eligibility & Qualification Criteria

Eligibility & Qualification Criteria:

Students at UG level or Higher with some basic idea of programming.

Fee for the LAB Workshop

Registration fee : Rs. 1000 

A refund of Rs. 800 will be provided to eligible candidates upon completion of the LAB Workshop.

Please note: No refunds will be issued after the registration deadline on 1st June, 2026

Since the lab workshop will be residential:

Cost/day (room+food) :

Hostel Accommodation is available at Rs 200/night.
A bed, a mattress, and a pillow will be provided. The bedsheet is to be brought by the participant.
Food at TGH:
  • Breakfast = Rs. 91
  • Lunch = Rs. 141
  • Dinner = Rs. 141.
Food payment can be made on the spot if the participants wish to have food at TGH. They can choose to have food elsewhere also, The institute have KFC, Domino's, Mio Amore, Jalajog, and many other options inside the campus.

Mark Split for the workshop

  • Internal: 60 %
  • Final exam: 40 %

Theory 50 % + Practical 50 %
